A male athlete is rowing a boat on a calm body of water, wearing a white athletic shirt with red and blue accents, a blue headband, and sunglasses. The sky in the background is overcast.

"I work with a small roster of 6–8 athletes at a time — so every rower gets my full attention, not a slice of it."

Unlocking the athlete within you

Our philosophy

Enhancing the athlete that’s already there

We focus on the fact that every athlete has hidden speed and potential. Our mentorship isn't about replacing what works; it's about uncovering the extra 10% through video review, erg execution, and mental prep.

The Technical Focus

Club and school coaches have to manage 20 to 80+ rowers at a time. They rarely have the hours to do deep, individual video analysis, break down stroke mechanics frame-by-frame, or build personalised erg pacing strategies. We provide that dedicated, individual attention off the water so you can bring maximum clarity back to the boat.

Beyond the Rowing

Becoming an elite rower requires more than just pulling hard on the handle. We cover the critical "off-water" pillars that squad coaches often don't have time to mentor individually:

  • Recovery & Sleep Protocols: Managing training load to prevent burnout and overtraining.

  • Nutrition & Hydration Strategy: Fuelling for hard erg tests, double sessions, and race days.

  • Lifestyle & Study Balance: Organising school/life demands so juniors can perform without stress.

  • Race Psychology & Mindset: Building resilience for seat racing, selection trials, and high-pressure ergs.

For Junior Rowers (Performance, Pathways & The Complete Athlete)

  • Video & Telemetry Analysis: Fine-tuning stroke mechanics frame-by-frame and leveraging data from telemetry systems (force curves, catch/finish angles, slip, and power application) to optimise boat speed and technical efficiency.

  • College & University Recruiting: Guidance on navigating recruitment profiles, contacting coaches, understanding erg score benchmarks, creating recruitment videos, and building a strategy to stand out to admissions and head coaches.

  • Erg Strategy & Race Execution: Developing individualised pacing strategies for 2k/5k erg tests, testing protocols, and understanding how to hit target splits without hitting the wall.

  • Selection & Mindset Prep: Building mental toughness and composure for high-pressure seat racing, matrix testing, national selection trials, and erg tests.

  • The "360° Athlete" Foundation: Mentorship on everything that happens off the water—mastering recovery protocols, nutrition/hydration strategies, sleep hygiene, and balancing school demands with elite training loads.

    For Parents & Guardians:

  • "With extensive experience coaching juniors at Henley Rowing Club and a background in educational support (SEN TA), I provide a transparent, safe, and highly supportive environment. We work in full harmony with your athlete’s school or club coaches to build healthy, ambitious rowers who thrive on and off the water."
