Mentorship, built for rowers by a rower

About me

My rowing journey started at 17 at City of Cambridge Rowing Club before joining the GB Start Programme—a fast-track pipeline designed to turn raw talent into international athletes. From there, I moved to the University of Bath, representing Great Britain at the U23 European Championships (finishing 4th) and winning international Development races at Duisburg and Holland Beker in the double scull.

During my time at university, I also worked as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant, giving me valuable experience in adapting learning styles, exercising patience, and supporting young people through high-pressure academic and sporting environments.

Selected for GB’s elite Performance Sculling Academy, I went on to win Henley Royal Regatta in the Double Sculls and earn my place in the Senior GB Rowing Squad. Over the past two seasons, I’ve represented GB across World Cups, European Championships, and World Championships in the single, double, and quad sculls—breaking the sub-6:00 2k erg barrier at age 22 along the way.

Having operated at the pinnacle of global rowing, I know what it takes to build engine capacity, execute under extreme pressure, and find speed where others can't.

Bridging the Gap Between Club Squads and Elite Performance

Why I founded Rowing Mentor

"Over the last three seasons coaching at Henley Rowing Club—alongside coaching school programmes in Bath and working with Masters rowers—I noticed a recurring pattern:

Squad coaches are phenomenal, but they are managing 20 to 60+ athletes at once. They simply don't have the time to sit down 1-on-1 with an athlete to break down telemetry curves, fix persistent technical ceiling issues, navigate college recruitment, or calm seat-racing anxiety. That's why I deliberately keep my own roster to 6–8 athletes.

I started mentoring athletes in an informal capacity several years ago. Watching rowers have 'lightbulb' moments, gain confidence, and shatter their personal bests made me realise how vital 1-on-1 mentorship is. Rowing Mentor was built to give ambitious rowers the dedicated 1-on-1 guidance I wish I had coming up through the ranks."

My Mentorship Philosophy & Results

My goal isn't just to tell you what to do—it’s to teach you how to think so you can master the skillset yourself.

When you work with me, we have the luxury of time. We go through every detail:

  • The Technique: Frame-by-frame video & telemetry breakdown.

  • The Engine: Erg pacing strategies and race execution plans.

  • The Mindset: Preparing for seat races, squad selection, and major trials.

  • The Life: Recovery, nutrition, and balancing study/work with high-level training.

Proven Outcomes:

  • Erg Drops: Guided athletes to drops of up to 40 seconds on their 2k ergs.

  • National Teams: Mentored junior athletes into making Junior National Teams.

  • US College Recruiting: Navigated athletes through successful recruitment to top US university programs.

For Parents and Guardians

A Healthy, Open, and Safe Environment

Having coached juniors at clubs like Henley Rowing Club alongside my SEN educational background, I am committed to cultivating a healthy, open, but relentlessly ambitious environment. High-level junior rowing comes with intense pressure—from erg tests and seat racing to academic deadlines and university recruitment. Mentorship provides a transparent, supportive space where athletes can communicate openly, manage stress, and build sustainable recovery and mindset habits.

Fully DBS checked / Enhanced Disclosure cleared. We operate with complete transparency, working in full harmony with your family and your athlete's school or club coaches to build resilient, confident rowers who thrive on and off the water.
